Study Abroad in Ecuador
Donation protected
Hello! My name is Isamar Tavarez; I am a senior and I study Economics at the University of Connecticut. This winter intersession 2016 I am planning on studying abroad in Ecuador. During this trip I will be staying in 2 different villages, Pulingui and Saraguro, where I will be staying with a host family. I will be learning about Ecuadorian culture, environmental issues, development plans, and many other aspects of the life style of Ecuadorian villagers. This program is designed to engage students in the local rural communities to gain a global perspective while simultaneously enhancing our leadership and teamwork skills.
The total coast of this trip is approximately $4,000 due December 14, 2015. I was fortunate enough to receive a $500 scholarship from the Global Citizens Award. However, I am not able to receive additional Financial Aid or Federal Loans. This is my last year to take advantage of this opportunity and I am really looking forward to studying abroad. I hope to use this experience and my economics background to gain more knowledge about economic development in Latin America and acquire professional skills. Any contribution would be tremendously helpful and appreciated!
Thank you for your consideration!
