Help Caleb Heal After Heroic Act

In Halifax County, a rural community in southern Virginia, 24-year-old Caleb Fox went to work at a local retail store, expecting an ordinary shift... fate would intervene and change his life forever.
His mother, Shawnee Sydnor-Dixon, a triple bypass and dual heart attack survivor, received the call no parent is prepared for. She learned that her son had been attacked at work and was en route to Duke via medevac helicopter.
Sydnor-Dixon, Caleb's father, Air Force veteran Franco Fox, family, and friends began to piece together what happened to Caleb. While at work, a couple had been engaged in an argument, escalating to a physical fight. Caleb, a young man who was raised to respect and treat people fairly, stepped in to assist the victim and deescalate the situation. From there, Caleb became a victim himself, being stabbed four times over his body. Caleb's family, including his two brothers, cousins, bonus grandparents, and friends made the nearly two-hour trip to Duke to support him and one another.
Caleb would be hospitalized for nearly a week to repair the immediate damage and ensure his body could heal from the attack. Thankfully, he would be released to the care of his mother, but additional surgery, recovery, and his well-being would make the journey much longer. The assailant was sentenced to twenty-two years in prison for aggravated and malicious wounding and two lesser charges.
Caleb Fox and his family were grateful to see justice, but the costs associated with the attack impact day-to-day life. Shawnee has exhausted all leave from her two jobs, managing life/work balance to care for herself and her middle son throughout the horrific ordeal.
On behalf of the family, the donations provided will assist with costs associated with Caleb's care, travel, medications, and loss of wages due to the attack over the last year.
