Hello everyone. This is Madalyn; I am Roy's daughter. For those that do not know, my Dad was diagnosed with stage III Colon cancer earlier this year in March. He began his treatments in Ames. He has done 6 rounds of chemo and then went on to do 28 days of radiation and chemo. This has been a long and exhausting road. Last month his care was referred to Iowa City to continue medical care there. It is now advanced to stageIV. The intent was to have surgery, but it is on hold while the doctors continue to do more scans to get a better treatment plan.

As many who know my Dad knows that it is hard to slow him down, he has always worked from sunlight until late at night. He has always been on the go. Always willing to help others. Being unable to work has been extremely hard for him; it is a significant change. It is tough not to be able to work and do the daily tasks he is used to doing.

Roy has three kids, Joshua (Brittany), Madalyn and Collin. Two grandkids, Emily and Waylon. He has always been very involved in their lives and loves spending time with them. He is a brother to Jodie, who passed away on November 27th, 2021, and Wendy (Brian Beal). He is a son to Marlene, an Uncle and a friend to many.
