JAMAICAN RECOVERY
⸻
Help Rebuild Lives After Hurricane Melissa – St. Elizabeth, Jamaica.
My name is Toussaint Lewis.
My family’s roots run deep in North West St. Elizabeth, especially in Lacovia and the St. Thomas Anglican Church—a place that has been at the heart of our community for generations. My parents, grandfather, and great-grandmother are all laid to rest there, along with many beloved relatives and friends.
Today, this sacred place and the surrounding communities are facing unimaginable devastation in the wake of Hurricane Melissa. Homes have been destroyed, crops washed away, and families left without access to food, clean water, or safe shelter.
Many residents have lost everything. What was once a peaceful and thriving rural community is now struggling to meet even the most basic human needs. The situation is urgent — every day that passes makes it harder for families to recover and rebuild.
We are raising funds to provide immediate relief to those hardest hit — including food, bottled water, temporary shelter, clothing, and essential supplies — while also supporting long-term rebuilding efforts in Lacovia and surrounding districts of St. Elizabeth.
No contribution is too small. Your kindness will directly help families restore hope and dignity in this time of great need.
We will forward what is collected to Rev. Tony Reid in St. Elizabeth.of the
1. Diocesan Church Fund: Lacovia Cure Pastoral Fund.
2. Jamaica Rifle Association / Lenny Moultan
3. American Friends of Jamaica / Carlton Hume
Please share this campaign and help spread the word. Together, we can make a difference for the people of St. Elizabeth and all Jamaicans affected by Hurricane Melissa.
