Hello my name is Andii and I am trying to raise money for my best friend Alison who is in desperate need.

Here is her story.

Alison has spent her entire adult life as her sisters carer, despite having physical and mental issues of her own. When Alison's sister died (who was her only close relative) Alison was overcome with grief and her mental health began to decline.

On top of this the DWP sent a letter to Alison tell her that her sister had been overpaid and demanded that Alison pay it immediately. Alison had never been in debt with anyone in her life at this point and paid it straight away.

With her sisters death the DWP told Alison that the benefit she had been receiving was no longer to be paid as she no longer fit the criteria. Alison took this to mean she wasnt entitled to anything. Alison then lived for almost 3 years with no income at all.

No-one from the DWP told Alison that she was entitled or should apply for a different type of benefit. Alison has mental health problems and is physically unwell and very weak. Alison began to live off what money she had in the bank.

As you can imagine this money did not last long and she had to decide between bills or food.

When I found out about all this all Alison had was £60 in old £10 notes. She had hidden what had been happening because she didn't want to worry me or anyone else.

I found out about this at New Year completely by chance. Alison's fridge was completely bare and she only had a loaf in her freezer. My husband and I ran to Asda to buy her some food and I began cooking meals for her. At New Year Alison only weighed 5 stone.

I have now got her onto Universal Credit and have applied for the health element and applied for PIP. At the moment Alison has £384 a month to live on.

The reason for the gofundme is to raise enough money so we can get new windows and doors as the ones she has are literally falling to pieces. We have done what we can but they are beyond repair.

Hopefully we will also be able to buy a working washing machine and a gas cooker.

I'd love to be able to make sure Alison is warm and safe in her home. She really doesn't deserve this when all she has done is care for her sister.

If we hadn't found out when we did I'm sure Alison wouldn't be here now. Alison has told me there were times when she just wanted to give up on life.

Financially we cant support her so we are now begging for help for Alison.
