We were blessed with a perfect baby boy on August 11th, 2017. We couldn't have been more happy, our little family of four was complete. We got to spend 7 wonderful days with our sweet boy. On the 7th day we went in for our very first doctors appointment, little did we know it would all go down hill from there. It all seems like a nightmare we cannot wake up from. One minute everything seemed fine and the next our sweet boy is fighting for his life. His temperature at the doctors office was 92 degrees, his organs had began to shut down. From there we were transferred via EMS to NorthEast where they decided our baby was septic. They didn't have what he needed there so we were airlifted to CMC Main in Charlotte where we have been in the PICU since Friday evening. Upon arrival his temperature was 91 degrees. Since, we have been on the worst roller coaster of our lives. Currently our sweet boy is on dialysis, he is fluctuating on and off of blood pressure medications, along with many other medications just to keep him stable. His liver is failing. Tonight we are waiting to get word back from Duke because, if his liver completely fails here there is nothing they can do. He is too small to get a transplant here. They want to take the opportunity to transport him to Duke soon so that he can make the trip while he is stable. We are praying for a miracle. I am on maternity leave but I only receive one more check and my husband is out of work to be with us. Duke doesn't offer sleeping arrangements for families. We are trying to get a room at the Ronald McDonald house there but they fill up fast and don't always have rooms available. We haven't spent a night together as a family (with our 3 year old daughter) in almost two weeks now. We just want to be with our sweet boy and see our daughter. We are asking for prayers first and foremost! Any donations would be greatly appreciated at this time. I cannot stomach the thought of our sweet boy being alone and I'm afraid if we cannot figure out something that is the point we will be at. Please help us to help our baby boy fight.
