Some of this is really hard to talk about, so I appreciate that you are taking the time to read this.

As most of your know my husband, Luther Belk, lost the battle to cancer on 01/06/2022. What a lot of people do not know is that I have not been able to work since September 2021. I am currently working on applying for disability per the advisement of my doctors. I have a number of physical problems as well as mental issues that have made it so that I can not keep a job. We had to use the savings we had to keep everything going. Luther worked for as long as he was able to but had to go on leave without pay. I tried looking into picking up small part-time work but was not able to with needing to be a full-time caregiver. We had amazing help from family to make sure we didn't get behind on bills, but we still needed to use our savings as well.

Luther did have life insurance, but it is going to take time to get that in for a few reasons. The first is I need a death certificate. The mortuary told me this is going to be delayed because they are very busy and backlogged because of the increase in individuals passing away. From there it will take time for it all to get processed after it is submitted.

In addition, because it is a new year, that means the insurance had a new deduction and I will be responsible for all of the medical bills while Luther was in the ICU. He needed multiple medications, blood and plasma transfusions, tests, and procedures while he was in. While I do not know the totals yet, I know there will be a lot with what he needed.

The help you provide will help me keep my house and cover my basic expenses (mortgage, electricity, groceries, internet, and phone) for a few months. It will also help to go towards the medical bills that I will be seeing soon.

I truly and deeply appreciate any help you are able to give. It is very hard for me to admit I have gotten to the point that I need this help, but I can't do it on my own right now. So if you are able to help Thank You, Thank You so much in every way.
