Supporting Venezuela: A Call for Compassion and Hope

Many of us have watched with heavy hearts as devastating earthquakes struck Venezuela, leaving communities shattered and thousands of families facing unimaginable loss. Beyond the immediate destruction, countless people are living without homes, electricity, clean water, or access to basic medical care. Rescue teams continue working tirelessly to search for survivors, while others are undertaking the heartbreaking task of recovering those who lost their lives. Families who have lost everything are seeking shelter, food, and comfort as they begin to navigate an uncertain future. Particularly concerning is the impact on children. Many have been separated from loved ones, displaced from their homes, and exposed to significant trauma. These young survivors require urgent medical attention, psychological support, and protection from risks such as human trafficking and exploitation, which often increase in the aftermath of large-scale humanitarian disasters. The challenges are made even greater by years of underinvestment in infrastructure, emergency preparedness, and public services. As a result, many communities were not equipped to withstand a disaster of this magnitude, and recovery efforts are expected to be complex and prolonged.

In response, as we have done in the past, Ashland has opened a GoFundMe campaign. Employees, together with our families and close friends, can come together to support the people of Venezuela during this critical time. Funds raised will help trusted humanitarian organizations provide:
