Hello everyone! On May 2nd, this beautiful girl wandered onto my property. She was wearing a purple winter coat when I found her, and when taking the coat off I noticed that she was extremely Emaciated and Malnourished. I am still searching for the owners, but until then she will continue to be living with me. Willow is a sweet lady who has clearly been through a lot. To add to her struggle, she is severely diabetic and blind as a bat! I am not sure how she made it so long on her own, but she is a fighter and I am ready to do what it takes to help her have a peaceful rest of her life. I have taken her to the vet and they have approximated her age at around 5-6 years old. Her diabetes are out of control but they think she was able to survive so long due to starvation. Because of her diabetes, she has very bad cataracts and has close to 0 vision in both her eyes. So far her vet bill has been quite expensive, and her insulin & special diabetic food will continue to add to my costs. To improve her quality of life I would also like to get her cataract surgery (approximately $3500) once she is a bit better so that she can live a happy puppy life! Any donations will be very appreciated, and any leftovers from the vet bill will be used to buy Willow treats & toys!
