Goode is a former running back for Alabama. He played for the Tide from 1983-87, finishing his career with 1,350 yards and six touchdowns, 30 catches for 222 yards and a score and a kickoff return for a touchdown. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected Goode in the seventh round of the 1988 NFL draft
After his diagnosis, Goode has been an advocate for ALS and an inspiration to many.
"There is a truth in knowing you are potentially battling something terminal. A truth that changes you so deep down inside that nothing will ever be the same. Your whole world stops on a dime. In the words of Tim McGraw, Some Day I Hope You Get The Chance To Live Like You're Dying. Love is so much sweeter....Life is so much more simple. " - Goode
