Hi, I'm Alfie — I'm 15, and on 22nd June I'm doing something most golfers don’t. Me and three friends are playing four rounds of golf in one day, teeing off at 4am, 8am, 1pm and 5.30pm. That's 72 holes, starting before sunrise. But as well as having fun there’s more to it.
I'm doing something my Dad loved. And I'll be carrying his putter with me for every single one of those 72 holes.
My dad was just 40 years old when he suffered a fatal cardiac arrest. Since then, CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) has supported me and my family and my cardiac screening programme, which helps make sure what happened to my dad doesn't happen to me.
It’s a charity that’s helping to save lives. Young lives. And they've helped look after mine.
So on the 22nd of June, the day after Father’s Day, while most people are still asleep, four of us will be out on the course, walking, swinging, and feeling it in every part of our body, all to raise money for a charity and cause that means a lot to me.
If you can spare anything at all, it would mean the world to me and my family.
Thank you so much. ️Alfie
