Hi y'all! My name is Amy. I have started this fundraiser for my good friend, Shawn Tekesky, in hopes that you will help a fantastic person that has been an amazing friend, & part of my life for many years. Shawn has recently fallen on hard times. In the past few months she has had several surgeries to remove cancerous spots from her face and leg. The Basil Cancer MOHS surgeries were in October of 2015. The surgery on her face resulted in major complications, and infections. However, the GREAT news......by the grace of God the cancer is gone!!
In December, while at work, Shawn participated in a blood drive. Shortly after the blood doantion, she passsed out and fell. The fall resulted in 3 broken ribs and severe dizziness from a concusion; and Positional Vestibular Vertigo. She spent 7 days in the hospital. (even spent Christmas hospitalized) Needless to say, my friend has had a rough, rough time. Shawn works in Austin at Seton, however has been out of work for sometime. (She used all her vacation and PTO for her cancer surgeries back in October) As we all know, bills do not care what our circumstances are, they continue right along. Shawn is in immediate danger of losing everything she has worked so hard for. Her landlords have been fantastic, working with her, however, rent (must be paid by the 10th of this month), car payments, utilities and everyday bills still have to be paid. I can assure you, every single penny raised will be put to good use. Help me help my friend keep her home, her car, her independence. Shawn has a long road ahead of her with rehabilitation, dr.'s appointment, therapy, and everyday life. She still depends on a walker to assist in everyday tasks. (She has no idea when she will be released to go back to work). If you have had the pleasure of meeting, or know Shawn, y'all know she is as stubborn as they come, and all but refuses to ask for help. That's where we step in. Shawn has been an instrumental part of my life, always there to lend a helping hand, she has come to my rescue more than once! Help me come to hers!! I know Shawn very well, and as soon as she is back to her old self, she WILL pay it forward, rest assured.
