Lazaro D. Machado-Martinez was pronounced dead at the scene following the crash, which took place on Duda Road southeast of the city limits just before 8:30 p.m. Evidence at the scene suggests that either drugs or alcohol may have played a role in the wreck, a sheriff’s report said. A 2006 Ford was headed north on the 500 block of Duda Road behind another vehicle when the driver, Eduardo Flores Zamora, 33, of Belle Glade, attempted to pass the vehicle in front of him, the report said. Zamora drove into the southbound lanes and collided with Machado-Martinez, who was thrown from his 2000 Honda motorcycle onto the pavement, according to the report. Zamora stopped his vehicle just north of the crash scene, the sheriff’s office said.
