Kenny, Bianca, and Kateri have been excitedly awaiting the arrival of sweet Luca. In December doctors noticed abnormalities in Luca’s heart. After several doctor’s appointments, he was diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot a defect that causes oxygen-poor blood to flow out of the heart and into the rest of the body. Doctors feel confident that with multiple surgeries, Luca will live a long and healthy life. However, he must jump some major hurdles first!
Bianca will be induced on March 9th in Ann Arbor and will be giving birth at U of M Ann Arbor so Luca will be able to receive the best possible care. The best care comes at a cost that while worth it will strap their family financially. Kenny and Bianca will have the added costs of extended stays in Ann Arbor and transportation to and from Ann Arbor to care for Kateri as well.
Bianca is currently on bed rest and will remain on leave until Luca is well. Kenny will return to work 2 weeks after Luca's birth, but money will be tight as the medical bills and added transportation costs add up.
Any help to make Luca’s first months a little less stressful would be greatly appreciated.
