Jeremy Michael Mackey was a young life taken too soon. It was a tragic accident leaving him with 2 brain fractures and a swollen brain stem injury. The doctors attempted to drain the fluid build up from his brain stem when he arrived at Wake Forest Memorial Baptist Hospital. The injuries were too severe. He was prounounced brain dead at 11:30PM March 23, 2019. Jeremy was 24 years young. He was an organ donor, and his wishes were honored leading him to save 5 lives in his parting. He will continue to live on and shine through in those 5 grateful recipients.
Jeremy was a son, a brother, a grandson, a nephew, a cousin, an uncle, a friend, and a boyfriend. All of those titles he took with love and pride. As most of you know, Jeremy carried himself with a loving soul, a kind heart, and a helping hand. His smile and laugh was nothing short of infectious. His hugs were the kind of hugs that could melt any of your current problems or worries away. No matter who had wronged him, he was a phone call away and would do anything in his power to be the person you needed at that time. There aren't enough words to speak of the love this boy had in his heart for everyone and everything he came into contact with. Now I'm sure he is enjoying a cold one with his dad, uncle, and grandma in heaven overlooking us all with those same loving eyes.
At this time our family is asking for some financial support in addition to being incredibly grateful for all the emotional and physical support you all have shown. An unexpected funeral for someone so young is never something anyone can plan for. Expenses are tight and anything is helpful and appreciated to help ease the finincial worry for a mother having to bury her son.
