My name is Jill Bonanno, and I have set up this fundraiser for my brother, Randy Stockstill. We have had so many kind people reach out and ask how you can help..so after a little hesitancy, I created this Go Fund Me to help Randy and Ping with costs to get back home and safe.
For those who have not been following the story..a recap is below.
Patrick "Randy" Stockstill (Honkus) is a 38 year old Baton Rouge native (LSU alumni) & current resident of Rhode Island. He, his wife Ping, and their two young children traveled to Yichang, in Hubei province (200 miles west of Wuhan) to celebrate the Lunar New Year with Ping's family. Randy arrived in Yichang Jan. 20 and was set to leave this coming Friday, Jan 31st. A few days after arrival in China, the whole Coronavirus ordeal began. With public transportation shut down in Yichang since Friday, Jan 24th, and their original returning flights cancelled, Randy and Ping were miraculously able to secure flights on a State Department plane this week. They have signed a promisory note, agreeing to reimburse the government $4400.00 on their flight back to the US, and will also need to book flights back home once out of quarantine. We are unsure if fares on their original return flights will be reimbursed.
Randy's quote from the article posted in The Wall Street Journal earlier this week. "We're not looking for special treatment," said the 38 year old loan officer, who hasn't stepped
outside for four days for fear of getting infected by the virus. We are just looking for a way to
get my boy home."
Big shout out to Randy's Tiger Droppings friends for rallying around him and giving him strength in an otherwise scary and hopeless situation. We are all humbled, and truly grateful. Any amount will help!
