My Name Is Aline Zacarias, and I Need Your Help
On the evening of January 22nd, 2025, my life was abruptly changed forever. At around 7:57 pm, I was held at gunpoint and carjacked at the Shell gas station near Greenhouse and Clay. The suspect's name was Christopher Rashad Morgan Jr. He followed me to my car and asked me for a ride. When I politely denied his request, he approached me even closer. He pulled out a gun and threatened me to hand over my keys. Fearing for my safety, I complied, as he continued to drive off with my car. Luckily, I was able to get him on camera and recorded him for as much as I could, but eventually ran back inside for my own personal well-being.
Immediately after the carjacking had taken place, I phoned the police through the gas station's personal phone, as I dialed my parents to come right away. Explaining the situation as well as I could, the police began a frantic search for my vehicle, and eventually located Christopher Rashad Morgan Jr. Tragically, during the time he had my car, he had picked up a young woman. When she tried to escape, Morgan Jr. shot her. As if this wasn't enough, while being chased by the police, he crashed into three other cars before slamming my car into a wall on the freeway. Thankfully, I walked away physically unharmed, but my car was totaled and is now being held for evidence in the ongoing investigation.
In the chaos of the incident, I also lost several important items that were in my car. This included my prescription medication I had picked up that evening, and the essential cleaning supplies I rely on for my job as a cleaner. Without a reliable car, I am unable to work or continue supporting myself.
In these devastating turn of events, I’m reaching out to my community for help during this turbulent time. I’m raising funds in hopes to cover the damages to my car and be able to purchase a new one. Last year, I worked two jobs to pay off my car completely, which came out to a total of $7,000. I never imagined I’d find myself in this desperate situation.
Any contribution, big or small, would make a huge difference in helping me get back on my feet. I also want to take this as an opportunity to wish the other victim a swift recovery, and I hope she and her family receive the justice they deserve after everything they have been put through.
