Matthew's College Fund

Donation protected
Matthew came back to the United States in 2013 after Tony passed away in 2012. He has been a student in the US for six years, completing Middle School in New York at TPS and high school in California, where he is a graduate from Northgate High School in Walnut Creek, CA. He is headed to San Jose State University in the Fall!

These funds will go directly into his savings account to cover the balance of his University fees (roughly $7,000.00 per year for the next four years). He has earned both Cal State Grants and Pell Grants, and he will do work study and take some loans to help pay a portion of his University costs. Please support this fine young man as he pursues his education. Here is a section of one of his college essays:

My story is one of overcoming adversity both in Thailand with the death of my father and my relocation back to the United States to live with extended family and make the most of the opportunities presented to me. What I do have going for me is that I am loyal, hardworking, resilient, and kind. I am half Lebanese and half Thai. I am excited about the opportunity to continue my educational journey and create a life for myself where I can contribute to society and leave the world better than I found it. When I think back on my ten-year-old self sitting in a classroom in Thailand, where I do not write or read the language, I cannot help but think that my father would be proud of how far I have come.
