Himalayan Children Care Home
Donation protected
My daughter Grace is raising money for the Himalayan Children Care Home (HCCH) based in Pokhara, Nepal. They are raising money to build a permanent home for the 70+ kids that live in their current rented home. All the children are from the Tibetan Kingdom of Mustang and live together at the home while they go to school in Pokhara, a 2 week walking journey from their home. Lama Pasang started this center about 10 years ago with only a handful of kids and it has grown immensely.
Grace helped 5 years ago raise money for HCCH to purchase land in Pokhara and now that they have purchased the land (3 rice paddies which is equivelent to about a half acre) they now are raising money to build a permanent residence for the kids from Mustang. When we visited the center in 2013 it was the highlight of our trip. The children learn Nepali at school, learn English from volunteers and meditate and practice Tibetan dancing and singing daily.
Grace was touched by these kids (as were we) and even though they are living with 9 to 12 kids in each tiny bedroom (triple bunkbeds) they are the happiest people we have ever met. Grace is wanting to raise money for them for their permanent home and her desire is to volunteer at the center in high school and college summers.
Grace does not have a Facebook account so I am helping her with promoting this as Go Fund Me only really works with Facebook. Please donate if you can. It would mean so much to Grace and her efforts to help HCCH.
With Love, Grace and James
