MIL's CANCER BATTLE

Our worst nightmare came true. My mother-in-law seemed perfectly healthy until about 5 months ago when she started developing minor flu like symptoms. She was put on a few courses of medications but nothing seemed to help her chest issues. Time passed and the symptoms kept getting worse with her loosing weight and her functionality gradually declining. The doctors decided to run a few imaging tests on her chest and they suspected it to be a terrible case of pneumonia. However, the CT Scans revealed massive lesions in her lungs and she was admitted to Intensive Care. Biopsies were performed and over 900ml of fluid was drained out of her lungs. The biopsies revealed our worst fear- Advanced Non Small Cell Lung Cancer. Further tests were done to gauge the stage/progress and we were told that the cancer is very aggressive and has spread to the bones also which pretty much implies it is in the liver too.  Hospital and medical bills have piled up constantly ever since. Everybody knows how expensive hospital stays, medical bills etc get. And this has dried up the finances pretty swiftly.  At this time she is on an O2 concentrator 24h since her right lung is completely obliterated and the left lung is functioning at about 75% .   The picture looks bleak but we are trying as much as we can. My wife has been taking care of her round the clock, my parents have stepped up in every way possible and we have been supporting them financially also but the influx-efflux ratio of finances gets pretty skewed when medical emergencies arise. This is where we are seeking some help from the community, from the people who understand all that you have to deal with when tragedies like this strike. I am setting up this fund to help ease the financial burden that comes with all the medications, frequent doctor visits and scans.
