Hello! My name is Abby Grimm. My family is going through a difficult time this holiday season. My sister’s family traveled from their home in Ohio to celebrate an early Christmas with family in Pittsburgh last weekend. My sister, Anna, and fiancé, Dan, have three beautiful children, Jackson (6), AJ (2), and Josephine (8 months). Josephine, or Joey as we call her, started to show concerning respiratory symptoms Saturday night and was sent to Childrens Hospital and was diagnosed with RSV. She quickly needed intubated and continues to remain on a ventilator as of today. While Joey continues to need high level of care and monitoring, my sister travels back and forth from Children’s to our mom’s house in Jefferson Hills daily, while Dan stays with Joey at the hospital.

While Dan does work full time in Ohio, he will be out of work for the foreseeable future as they cannot go home until Joey improves. Anna is a stay at home mom and they are now without an income. This will prove to be a challenge in the days and weeks to come as Joey recuperates and hopefully comes off the ventilator.

We have had an enormous outpour of support and prayers from so many people, which we cannot thank everyone enough. Deciding to make this fundraiser would be an easy way for people to contribute and to ease the financial burden of this hard time for Anna, Dan, Jack, AJ, and most of all, sweet baby Joey. We are rapidly building a village around them to support in whatever way we can. Thank you all so much for your kindness, support, and prayers in this difficult time.
