4908 Awakenings Fundraiser

Donation protected
My name is Marianne Ryan. I am an independent, multidisciplinary artist based in NY & LA raising $2000 this month to produce my solo show, 4908 Awakenings on March 8, 2025 at 2pm at the Spark Theatre Festival, 312 W 36th Street, 3rd flr directed by Janine Squillari.

A minimum donation of $20 secures one ticket for our performance on March 8, 2025 at 2pm in NYC - Leave a message with your donation and I will reserve your ticket/tickets under your name (If you would like to reserve 5 tickets please make a donation of $100. Each ticket is valued at $20).

The initial donations of $2000 support the artists directly. Once we’ve reached our goal all additional donations over $2000 will be donated equally to NAMI and TAC (details below).

About 4908 Awakenings
A deeply personal journey of one woman's relationship with her family, Schizophrenia, loss and love…. so much love. A love that breaks her heart wide open & through her grief she discovers how to live again.

We’ve had three, well received staged readings in NYC and LA. This has encouraged us to continue developing the show and we are thrilled to be invited to the Spring Spark Theatre Fest in NYC!

4908 Awakenings intends to boldly illuminate the trauma that families experience from the abhorrent lack of treatment for individuals who suffer from severe mental illnesses (SMI). Sharing my personal accounts in order to encourage conversations for families & caregivers.

The future of 4908 Awakenings
To film a live performance that will be used for organizations to increase the dialogue for caregivers.

And yes, we do see a TV series in our future.

WHO WE ARE FUNDRAISING FOR:
About NAMI
NAMI is the National Alliance on Mental Illness, the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness.
The Sibling and Adult Child Support Group is for siblings or adult children of individuals with mental illness. This group provides opportunities to share valuable coping strategies and practical information that helps you support your loved ones experiencing mental health challenges.

About TAC
Treatment Advocacys’s Center mission is to eliminate the barriers to timely and effective treatment of severe mental illness (SMI) through advocacy, public education, and support for individuals and families affected by SMI.

“If you are one of the more than 8 million Americans providing care to an adult with a mental health issue, you know the ups and downs that come with this responsibility. The pride and relief that soar when your loved one is safe and stable in recovery. The fear and crisis that result if they are unstable and cycling through ERs, hospitals, jails or the streets.
If your loved one is among the roughly half of people with severe bipolar disorder or schizophrenia who do not recognize their own need for treatment (a condition known as anosognosia), you may find it necessary to seek involuntary intervention to stop a downward psychiatric spiral or reduce danger to the individual or others.

The more you know about the mental illness treatment system and the conditions affecting your loved one, the better equipped and more effective your advocacy will be.”

This project is a worthwhile investment, and we are truly grateful for any and all donations.
