Urgent Help to Keep a Roof Overhead

I hate to ask for support like this, but I'm a bit out of options at the moment. My ex wife moved out around Mid may, she gave me about a month and a half warning this was happening so would have time to find a roommate or somewhere else to move and I started looking because I don't make enough money to cover rent and bills on my own. Moving turned out to be rather hard because I have poor credit due to a failed business my ex and I were running together until last year.

Thankfully (so I thought) I found a roommate. A friend, or I suppose a former friend at this point, was looking for a place to move. I should have noticed the red flags, he took a long time to get back to me about plans several times, but in early may he committed to moving in so obviously I stopped looking at other options. He started brining stuff over and I let him start moving in before he paid me any money. Stupid I know, but he was a friend I'd known for a while and I trusted him. He was here for a little over a week, he promised he'd pay me rent last weekend, but then disappeared the whole weekend only to message me right before I went to bed on Monday to say he was moving out, and then less than 12 hours later, while I was at work, he came by and moved his stuff out.

I'd only had one request when he moved in, that he give me 30 days notice if he decided to move out, which he agreed to, instead he gave me NO money at all, and when I reached out to him he promised to send me "some" money and "some" point. It probably won't surprise anyone that he has sent me nothing, which has left me with less than I need to cover rent and bills for June, and starting from square one looking for a roommate again.

I'm hoping to get 1200 dollars, (what he was supposed to pay me for rent) it's not everything he owed me, but it'll be enough to cover my bills so I don't end up getting evicted.
