Vinny's Road to Recovery
Donation protected
[ ]Hello everyone! This is Christine Spinelli, Vinny's wife.
My husband Vinny and a friend were involved in a horrible car accident, Saturday, May 15 caused by a distracted driver and Vinny was the point of impact. He was trapped, extracted, and airlifted to a trauma center in Columbia, SC where he under went a four hour surgery to repair a fractured hip, femur and tibia. The tibia break was compound and required 40% of existing bone to be removed and replaced with a rod. He was in the hospital for 7 days, then another 7 days at a rehabilitation facility to learn how to be wheelchair bound for the next three months. Even though he will soon return home his recovery is far from over. He is unable to walk until the doctor allows him to bear weight on his right side again. In 6-8 weeks he will undergo another surgery to further repair the tibia break with bone grafting. Once the surgeon allows him to bear weight he has months of physical therapy in his future and learning to walk again.
All donations we receive will go directly towards medical bills and expenses. If you can not donate please don't feel you can't help, simply sharing this fundraiser on social media and keeping Vinny in your prayers is more thank I can ask.
Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who makes a donation and keeps Vinny in their prayers. There are no words to express my deepest thanks to our friends (who are family) who built a beautiful wheelchair ramp so he can come home, kept us fed and doted on us nonstop. My heart is full and my cup runneth over❤
Thank you all,
Christine
