Help Us Transform a Gloomy Basement into a Healing Haven for Rescued Cats

KatDadde Inc. has always been a rescue with heart. Since 2018, we’ve saved hundreds of the most vulnerable cats in the greater Birmingham, Alabama area—those abandoned, injured, sick, or simply forgotten. In 2022, we took a huge step forward and purchased our own rescue house, a warm residential space where our cats can free roam, recover, and rediscover trust and love.

But there's one part of our rescue that remains stuck in the shadows: the basement.

This space, full of potential, is currently dark, unfinished, and unsafe. There’s no ceiling—just exposed beams and ductwork that curious cats can (and do) climb into. It’s cold, uninviting, and utterly lacking in the kind of enrichment our rescues so desperately need to heal.

We dream of transforming this basement into something special:

✨ A bright, welcoming environment filled with light and life

Windows to bring in the sunshine

A cozy catio where they can safely enjoy fresh air

️ Proper infrastructure—ceilings, safe ducting, and finished surfaces—to protect the cats from injury and create a healthy, functional space

This renovation would more than fix walls and pipes—it would turn a neglected part of the house into a sanctuary. A peaceful, joyful space where cats who’ve been through the worst can feel safe, stimulated, and loved as they wait for their forever homes.
