Lola “My Everything”
I told myself I wasn’t ready for another fur baby. Just two weeks after saying goodbye to my sweet Tasha, my 5-year-old Lab mix who passed away from cancer, I happened to see a picture on Craigslist of the most beautiful little girl Lola. The moment I saw her, my heart knew she was mine. The very next day, I met her, and within 20 minutes she was in my car, beginning her new life by my side, from that moment on, she became my whole world.
In the last four years, I’ve faced heartbreak I never could have imagined losing both of my parents just five weeks apart and then the loss of Michael. Through all of this pain, Lola has been the one constant light in my life. She has been my comfort, my strength, and my reason to keep going when the world felt unbearably heavy.
Lola isn’t just a pet; she is my family. She is such a kind sweet heart and anyone that meets her will tell you that they Love Her.
She is my best friend, my rock, my safe place. She greets me at the door every single day with pure joy, unconditional love, and endless kisses. She goes everywhere with me, and she has helped heal my anxiety, loneliness, and depression.
To call her a “support dog” doesn’t come close she is so much more, she is the closest person to me, she makes me to look forward to coming home to an empty home. She is my angel, sent by God, and the one who held my heart together when it was breaking. Lola has made me a better person.
Now, my sweet girl needs me more than ever. For the past few months, Lola has been struggling with urinary problems frequent urination, straining, and only passing small amounts. After blood work, urinalysis, urine culture, and X-rays, her symptoms have gotten worse and with the direction from Dr. Jenn at Balasky Animal Hospital in Davie, Fl. and the team at Paws 2 Help in West Palm Beach where she got an ultrasound that revealed something devastating: a mass in her bladder. Both of her vets have told me that, because of the location, this mass is almost always cancer.
Hearing the word cancer shattered me. To confirm, a biopsy and a urine cancer test have been ordered, but the truth is clear my Lola is in the fight of her life.
I am determined to give her every chance possible, but the medical costs are overwhelming. I will do anything for Lola.
She was sent to me in my darkest times, and now I will fight with everything I have to be here for her because I know God sent her to me to be by my side through my hard times, she has been a blessing to me.
This is why I am reaching out with a humble heart asking for help to cover Lola’s medical cost and future care to give her the best chance at fighting this, while the costs are overwhelming, and I will go above and beyond for her.
Every donation, no matter the size, goes directly toward Lola’s medical care and gives her the chance she deserves. If you are unable to donate, simply sharing her story is a gift that means so much to me.
From the bottom of my heart—thank you. Thank you for reading about Lola, for caring about her, and for helping me fight this battle. God bless you.
