Puppy Huey will die without heart surgery. It will cost us $16,000, but can you put a price on a precious life, failed by humans?

Huey came to us with a hole in his heart, a deadly but repairable condition - Patent (open) Ductus Arteriosis - essentially a direct shunt for blood between the aorta and the pulmonary artery. It is normal in a fetus but should close within days of birth.

In Huey's case it is significant and symptomatic, already causing congestive heart failure and remodelling of the heart (hyoertrophy - getting larger).

Without this surgery Huey will die soon.

But with your HELP we want to fight for him by offering him a life saving surgery that will literally give him the GIFT of life.

It's hard to imagine that this boy was going to be shot by his backyard breeder when they realised he had a heart murmur - not even deemed worthy of the cost of a vet consult to investigate options for treatment, or to be given a peaceful death. Just cast aside like rubbish, when they realised he wasn't perfect.

Thank goodness we did, as the news from the specialists is good. With a surgery to repair the hole in his heart, Huey will make a FULL recovery and live a long and normal life.
