Keith needs help after open heart surgery

I am trying to raise funds for our friend Keith. We all know he has put off his health for years in order to work overtime to support his kids and make amends. Unbeknownst to him, he had an aortic aneurysm forming. Three months ago he couldn’t ignore his health anymore, and started making multiple trips a month from West Palm to Miami for echocardiograms, a cardiac cath, MRIs of his heart and brain, an aortic ultrasound, and ultrasounds of his legs. On Wednesday, March 19, he had an open heart aortic root and valve replacement at Mount Sinai Hospital in Miami. He has been in a tremendous amount of pain, however he is home now. He will be recovering and off work for another 3 months-making it a total of 6 months by the time it’s all said and done that he’s not getting the paychecks he needs to survive. Unfortunately bills don’t stop, and financial commitments cannot be broken. He’s also doing this all on his own. His kids live with their mother in Georgia, and his father and brother live in Las Vegas. (His mother passed a few years ago)

A little background on Keith, in 2016 he got sober after years of alcohol and drug addiction. When he was sober long enough, he started working in detox/treatment centers helping other addicts and alcoholics start their own recovery journey. I had the pleasure of working with Keith a few years ago in Lake Worth. I watched this man work five to six 12+ hour shifts every week, sending money to help his kids and their mother, buying smokes for homeless patients to spare them from smoking cigarette butts, buying dinner or cooking dinner for his coworkers at night so that we all would be able to eat a decent meal, helping out others financially, and all the while remaining as humble as can be. He has the most thankless job in the world, but he cannot wait to get back to it. I’m trying to help raise some funds for him to help him with his own personal bills, his own food, and gas for transportation to all of his upcoming appointments. He has helped so many people, I’m hoping we can repay the generosity he has shown so many of us and others
