Help us give Rayito another Chance at Life

Hello my name is Nancy,

I am asking for assistance with the medical bill for a community kitten under a year old who has so much life and love to give but that needed two life saving surgeries.

On Thursday April 10, we noticed a community kitten who had been around our neighborhood for some months now was limping it seemed that she had gotten into an accident (unsure what happened) but we noticed her tail and back leg were injured.

We took her to the Vet ER and given that she was not our pet they offered us to turn her in to Humane Animal Society to see if maybe she had an owner, however animal shelter contacted me letting me know that no one had step up for her and that she would most likely be put down due to limited resources and her injury.

We knew she had so much more life ahead of her so we decided to redeem her as we didn’t want her to get euthanized.

We managed to take her to a vet the following day. And based on her test results she did not need her leg amputated but she did need to get a fracture surgery to get pins to put her dislocated bones back into place and unfortunately she did have a broken tail which needed amputation..

Unfortunately, we were not able to afford the full cost of that treatment that we were initially quoted of around $4,000. But we didn’t want to give up on her and her recovery. Thus after many attempts from contacting so many programs and different vets, we were accepted into the UC Davis community surgery clinic to get her tail amputated which was about $ 1,047 and also get her surgery for her leg with a local vet which was $1,134. Thankfully, we have been able to pay off her leg surgery but unfortunately we are struggling to pay her tail amputation and all the medications she has been put on. Especially since one of our dogs recently needed an emergency surgery as well this past week due to pyometra.

This is why we are reaching out to the community friends and family to see if we can get any support. Anything is greatly appreciated and will help us so much.
