On July 20th I woke up to our home being surround by water. With water coming in from under our front door and back door. With the rain not letting up and Slocom lake over flowing into my back yard, the water had taken over my home in a matter a day. My daughter and I are devastated. A mother should never have to look at her daughter cry and wonder where they are going to live! Im Dorian a 23 year old single mother of a beautiful daughter Lily, who just turned 5! When we woke up July 20th to this happening Lily and I gathered what we could quickly and evacuated our home and moved into a hotel which we had to stay at for 11 days, using up all of my savings. We are now able to stay at my parents home temporarily, who live next door to me, who also endured damages to their home in the flood. Just far less because their home is lifted. We have flood insurance but the policy only covers structural damage, and is refusing to cover contents, personal belongings and any additional living expenses or temporary housing. We are asking for some help with funding to replace the things we lost and to help us get by currently with living expenses, groceries, school supplies for my daughter who starts school in just 3 weeks, clothes, beds for the both of us. Just everything materialistic we lost. No one ever prepares for something like this! But we need some help. So if you can please donate and if you can't keep us on your thoughts and prayers!
