Suddenly a Single Mom

The night of August 29th Ellis "Ellie" was assaulted brutally on the side of the road by her partner of 14 years as her children watched and tried to help their mother.  She and her 4 children were going to help him get home, as he was injured earlier in a separate incident.  Thankfully bystanders saw her being beat and came to her aid.  She was transported to the ER with a concussion, multiple abrasions, a hematoma on her forehead and sprained wrist.  Shortly after he crashed into a barrier and totaled the family car. 

Ironically things in this families world had just begun to have some positive aspects.  Ellis started an amazing job she loves back in July working as a phlebotomist at local hospitals,  Since this incident occurred she has lost 4 days of work and will now need to adjust her work in order to cover childcare when she works.  This will be a substantial change to her finances and ability to care for the children.

She is suddenly a single mom as she will not return to this abuse. Her partner is in custody at the SLC county jail facing multiple charges. As you might imagine the emotional and physical toll this has taken on her has been very tough.  Anyone who knows Ellie will say she is  always willing to lend a helping hand but most of all go above and beyond for those she cares about.  So, while she may seem like she's got it under control, anxiety about the what if's are hard to process and she is working on recreating her life for her children now. She is selfless in love and in life and is requesting help to get back to a place where she can help her family and community.  Please donate what you can or spread the word.
