Support the Harris Family

Hurricane Helene has devastated our area as well as surrounding states. So many have lost so much including people from in and around Damascus. A friend and coworker, Becky Harris, and her family lost so much. They have two children who have been uprooted from their home due to flooding. At this time people in that area have no idea if insurance or FEMA will be helping so I am creating this GoFundMe to raise some money to help this family of 4 get back on their feet. I know so many have been affected in our area and if you can’t donate please share. Below is a message about them and what they have lost.

Becky and her husband Cody have two little boys. Landon who is 13 and Casey who is 4, both boys were adopted through foster care. They have lived in their home in Chilhowie for 9 years. They love all things outdoors, trail riding, hiking, fishing, camping, and watching their oldest play football and basketball.

Friday after the rain stopped they went back to their home to find it standing in water. They watched their camper, boat, trampoline, swing set and all the children's toys wash right past them. When they could finally get back to their home the next day there was mud and water throughout their home, a foot up the wall in some places and they could tell it had collapsed a wall in one room. They were able to save most of their clothes, shoes, dishes, and things that were higher up.

Currently, they are staying with family in their basement and are so thankful to have somewhere to stay. If you can’t donate please pray for all the families who have lost it all.
