Donation protected
On May 22, 2021, my brother (Aron DuBois), his pregnant wife (Mayme DuBois), and their two sons (ages 1 & 2) were hit head-on by a driver who is suspected to have been intoxicated or distracted (pending an ongoing investigation) on State Road 60 in Campbellsburg, IN while they were on their way home from a family get-together. Aron and Mayme both had to be life-lined to Louisville, KY due to their critical conditions. They were separated from their sons who had to go via ambulance to Salem Hospital. Aron and Mayme both suffered numerous injuries that resulted in ongoing surgical procedures. At this point, they are both immobile and will be for several weeks, if not months. By the grace of God, both of their sons only suffered minor bruising and one has a concussion. Also, an OB checked on Mayme's pregnancy and everything looked fine.
Yesterday (May 26, 2021), both Aron and Mayme were released from the hospital. Mayme will require at least one additional surgery for the breaks in her femur and ankle. For Aron, he will have ongoing physical therapy at home to work on standing and walking. The orthopedic surgeons have referred him to intensive inpatient rehabilitation, however, Aron's health insurance will not cover it. Due to their immobility, it is completely unknown at this point how long they will need to be off work.
The DuBois Family will need a lot of support throughout their recovery. Foremost, the driver of the other vehicle did not survive the accident. Aron and Mayme have consistently asked that you consider praying for the individual's family as they navigate this tragedy. Additionally, please say a prayer or good thought for the DuBois Family as well. Each and every one of them is greatly appreciated. If you like to cook, please consider bringing by a meal for them. I would be more than happy to take it to their home for them or to provide you with their address. Pretty much anything you think may help them in their recovery will. Lastly, any funds donated to the DuBois Family will be used toward their ongoing medical expenses and living expenses until they regain their mobility.
God was definitely present the night of their accident. We were unsure if they were going to make it, but prayed and held on to hope. We are thankful to be able to end this dark time with a ray of light... from this accident, we have found out that the DuBois Family is not expecting just one baby, but two! Truly, God is good.
