Dancing in Italy Fall 2022!

Dear friends and family,

I have been pursuing dance and following my heart and passion in this art form since I was five years old. The latest chapter in my dance journey closed in May when I graduated summa cum laude from Saint Mary’s College of California with a double major in dance and women and gender studies. My strong technical training at SMC, the opportunity to choreograph my first piece, Lifting the Veil and solo Phrasework , and the chance to perform at several regional festivals have strengthened my love for modern dance, and I’m excited to take the next step.

I was recently accepted to the prestigious International Contemporary Dance Program in Turin, Italy. This is an outstanding professional training program that would allow me to study with guest artists and choreographers that come from the greatest companies in the world. I am planning to attend the first trimester which lasts from August 23rd to December 22nd.

My total costs for this opportunity come to about $7,500. All my summer earnings will cover about half that, and my parents are helping as they are able. I’m hoping that some of you will help defray the costs since my college student loan payments will start as soon as I get done with this program!
