Hi, my name’s Jiggy (Jiggles Mcgee, Jiggly Puff, Mr. Jiggle Jiggle No Folds, The Jiggliest Boy Around). I am a rescue from Heavenly Creatures. We don’t know my exact age, but I’m guessed to be around seven years old. I had a rough start in life. As far as my parents know, I was left outside and mistreated by my first owners. I have lived with my forever family for 2 years and have never been happier. They cleaned up the cracking skin on my paw pads, gave me lots of brushes, and ensure I have good food to eat (even though they only give me three meals a day when I asked for six). They have taught me how to play and gave me the best big-little sister I could ask for. She cuddles with me, gives me baths, and lets me pet myself on her legs.

Since my mom’s have had me, I’ve had to go to the vet a few times. I’m a good boy when I’m there but I’ve had to stay over a few times, and my moms say that means big bills. I have an affinity for urinary crystals. I have had two near-complete blockages and a third partial one. My moms have me insured, but that was a preexisting condition, so it’s not covered. This week, they rushed me to the VSC for a complete blockage and the friendly vets got me all cleared up. I’m on medicine and happy to be home but they say I need a PU surgery to make a bigger opening for the crystals to pass through. It sounds scary, but my mom’s say I’ll feel a lot better after. My moms don’t make a lot of money but they’ve managed to pay my bills up to now. Could you donate and help me get the surgery I need? I’d really appreciate it! Look, I’ll even turn on my kitten cat eyes. How can you say no to me?

Katie:
Thank you for reading Jiggy’s note! We have found our way through the vet bills up to date (over $5000), but this trip to the VSC and the upcoming surgery will cost us around $7500. I (Katie) am a student, and my partner is a substitute teacher looking for full-time work. We’ve done everything we can for Jiggy and will continue to do so, but any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. Jiggy has been such a fantastic addition to our family. He has been a great support during difficult times, and he tucks me in at night, purring away on the side of my pillow. I fully believe he has quite a good life ahead of him, and I will do whatever it takes to see him happy and healthy. We manage his everyday needs of specialized food, but I think few of us have this money around when the unexpected strikes. I’d like to thank anyone who donates in advance, and I will keep you posted on his recovery.

Katie, Emma, Sypha, and Jiggy.

UPDATE: Jiggy has had his PU surgery! He got through it quite well (his heart rate was a little slow on anaesthetic but he came around) and was an absolute angel for the veterinary team. He is recuperating with his cone (he’s not a major fan of it) and his incision should be healed in 2-3 weeks. Thank you so so much to everyone who has donated or hopes to for helping our boy get another chance. The vets are very confident that this should end the blockages.
