Aid for Ivy Delgado-Fierro’s NICU Journey

This fundraiser is in benefit of Ivy Delgado-Fierro and her parents, Taylor Delgado and Miklo Fierro. On Thursday January 23rd, at just 3 days old and 3 weeks early, Ivy was flown out to UNM from GRMC via Lifeguard in order to receive a higher level of care for the following conditions: Hyperattenuating intracranial hemorrhage, small volume subdural hematomas, intraventricular and subarachnoid hemorrhages, skull/clavicle fractures, and jaundice. She has been receiving treatment in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit since.

With no set date for Ivy to be discharged and able to come home, Taylor and Miklo are in need of financial support to help cover travel expenses, bills, etc. Taylor is currently on unpaid maternity leave, and Miklo is in the process of starting his paternity leave. Anything at the moment to aid and alleviate any stress while they stand at their baby girl’s side in the NICU is greatly appreciated.

UPDATE: Our care team at UNM felt extremely confident in Ivy’s condition and she was able to get discharged sooner than expected, but her journey isn’t over yet. Within the next few months, starting as early as next week, we will still have to return to Albuquerque from Silver City to follow up with multiple pediatric specialists regarding her condition and development to ensure that all is progressing well. We humbly ask again that you please continue to keep her in your thoughts and pray that she makes a full recovery without any complications. 

We are also extremely thankful to all who have donated and are overwhelmed with the amount we have received. This has allowed us to continue to support her through her road to recovery without the burden of financial stress.
