Help For Martha
Donation protected
Dear friends of Community Magnet and Martha Melinda:
Last week Martha was rushed to the hospital when her daughter, Jaime, found her non-responsive in bed.
The doctors at St. Joseph said that Martha had had a stroke, and they were able to take care of the blood clot.
However, upon further evaluation they discovered that Martha also has a mass on her lung.
Martha is now in ICU, and in urgent need of further medical treatment.
Many know Martha from the after-school musicals she directs every year, but Martha Melinda has been a fixture at Community Magnet for over 30 years. She started as a parent, and offered to teach Improv for free. Later, Pam Marton officially brought her on board to take over the after school program, and the rest is history.
Martha is one of the kindest, most giving humans to have touched Community. When alumni visit, she is the person they most frequently want to see. She would give any one of us the shirt off her back -- and would make sure the stray animals in her neighborhood were fed before herself.
Now she needs our help.
