Help Bruno to walk again

My name is Victoria and I am raising money for my beloved dog, Bruno, who is in emergency care and recovering from the spinal surgery.

Bruno is 4.5 years old French bulldog, he is the soul of our family - chilled, friendly and the best dog we could ever wish for.

About a week ago, Bruno started to feel unwell, shivering and unsettled, we took him to an after hours vet at 4 am, as he started whimpering, but he was misdiagnosed with tummy problem, given pain killers and sent home to rest. Bruno was not getting better, we ended up going to the local vet again, but Bruno’s back legs got paralyzed that night and we rushed him to Sydney SVOS in Miranda.

Bruno has been diagnosed with IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease) - a condition where the discs cushioning the vertebrae in the spine have deteriorated, leading to disc herniation and spinal cord compression. This condition causes substantial pain, nerve damage, and eventual paralysis.

Having emergency spinal surgery within the first week of symptoms can usually lead to a 80% chance of recovery. Unfortunately Bruno has stage 5 out of 5, meaning that his recovery will be hard, delayed or not even possible. He is now 4 days post surgery and still doesn't have any nerve sensation in his back legs, he can’t move or urinate on his own. We brought him home today and try to comfort him as much as we can.

He is due for the final assessment and verdict in a week time, if he does not get his nerve sensation back, he will be paralyzed for the rest of his life.

We are committed to help him as much as we can, but the cost is overwhelming. Having already spent over $15K for his MRI, emergency spine surgery and post surgery care, we are not sure how we can afford his physio rehabilitation expenses.

Being faced with this extraordinarily steep price tag to save our dog’s life, we are making difficult family decisions and sacrifices to afford the cost. Regardless, we are committed to doing everything in our power to help Bruno - but we can't do this alone. I am asking for your support to give Bruno a chance to walk again.
