Grant County Search and Rescue is an all volunteer organization dedicated to training and willing to use our own personal resources to aid or rescue missing person(s) from the back country and mountains of New Mexico
On March 10, 2016 the GCSAR's K9 unit was conducting training on public land. At some point during the training two of the K9s ingested a poison.
The K9s, Jackie and Po made it thru the night and are in the care of a Veternarian. They will both be hospitalized for at least the next week for continued treatment and testing.
Funds will be used to pay for medical treatment of the K9s. Excess funds above the medical costs will be used for any future necessary medical treatments of the K9s and the SAR K9 team continued training program.
SAR K9s are just not dogs. The SAR K9 and their handler continuly train so that they are available for to help locate somone that is lost or in need.
