December 13th, Susan had a serious paragliding accident in Mexico caused by a rare and unpredictable change in conditions prior to her landing. She fell about 100 feet through trees before hitting the ground. She sustained multiple severe fractures to her pelvis and sacrum, along with a sprain of her cervical spine.
Susan will have to go through multiple major surgeries to install plates to the front and back of her pelvis, and a screw in her sacrum. We are unsure whether she will undergo these surgeries in Mexico or be medically evacuated back to Canada.
Susan’s rehabilitation and recovery are expected to take a significant amount of time. She is a single mother with two boys on limited income. She has always been determined to support herself. She needs help now with the many unexpected costs that arise after a serious accident.
Thank you for donating, sharing this page, and offering encouragement to her.
