On Friday, Oct. 14 2022 the Adkins family was hiking at Cataract Falls during the boys’ fall break. Matt fell from a cliff and landed 30’ down on rocks and rubble. Multiple good samaritans, including an off-duty EMT, helped the family find Matt and keep him stable until medics arrived and were able to make their way down the trails. Matt was mostly unconscious, but he was able give his mom a tiny thumbs up as she encouraged him to hang in there.

Matt was airlined to Riley Hospital for Children, and has been in amazing care but has a long road ahead of him. He has multiple injuries, including broken bones and lacerated organs, all of which will require multiple surgeries. He will likely be at Riley at least a couple of weeks, and then inevitable rehab after that.

The Adkins are anticipating high medical bills, on top of the cost to travel to Indy, food, accommodations, etc. Any funds raised will go toward supporting them in any way they need. On top of funding, they would be so encouraged and blessed by your constant prayers. We love Matt and we’re so excited to see him back with us as soon as God allows.
