Help My Family Survive and Evacuate from Gaza

Hello kind souls around the world,

My name is Khalil Abubaker, and I’m writing to you from Gaza, where my family and I have been living under unimaginable conditions for the past 21 months due to the ongoing war.

What Happened to My Family

Like so many families in Gaza, we’ve lost nearly everything.

Our father, who was the backbone of our household, lost his job due to the war and has exhausted his life savings to support us.

We also ran a small rabbit farm, our side business and main income source—until it was completely destroyed in an airstrike.

Then came the worst tragedy of all:

I lost my beloved sister and her entire family when their home was bombed. Only one of her daughters survived. We are now taking care of this precious little girl and doing everything we can to help her heal from this terrible trauma.

Our family consists of:

* My father, Hassan Khalil Abubaker, born 1966

* My mother, Saeda Saleh Abubaker, born 1976

* My sister, Haneen Hasan Abubaker, born 2007

* My sister, Lina Hasan Abubaker, born 1997

* Lina’s husband, Mohammed Sabry Siam, born 1989

* And now, the young daughter of my late sister whom we’re raising as our own

My Background and Our Struggle

Before the war, I was proudly working remotely for a company outside Gaza. I supported my family and helped us stay afloat. Unfortunately, due to the escalating situation, I lost that job as well, and used up all my savings trying to keep us alive.

Now, after nearly two years of devastation, our resources are gone. Our home is damaged, and our daily life is reduced to survival.

Why We're Fundraising – Our Goal

We’re raising €5,000 to cover our most urgent needs:

* Food & clean water

* Shelter and hygiene supplies

* Basic medical necessities

* Warm clothing and essentials for winter

* Support for our niece who lost her parents

Once we reach this goal, we will adjust it to fund our evacuation from Gaza, in hopes of building a safer future.

I've always been hesitant to ask for help—even from my closest friends. But I’ve reached a point where silence is no longer an option. I believe in the kindness of strangers and in the power of community, even across borders.
