Riley is a 27-year-old single dad, fighting leukemia while trying to keep life stable for his daughter Cristal, a 16-year-old who he adopted after stepping in during her time in foster care. Riley didn’t just open his home to her - he gave her the first real sense of safety and consistency she’s ever known. He didn’t wait until life was easy or convenient. He just loved her. When Cristal’s younger half-sister needed a home, Riley stepped in again, even while in treatment, determined to keep the sisters together.

Since his diagnosis, Riley has spent countless nights in the hospital. There are weeks where he’s in and out more than he’s home. He continues to parent, to protect, and to provide - fighting every single day with a quiet bravery that most people will never see. But behind that strength is a reality that’s incredibly hard: crushing medical bills, missed work, and the constant weight of trying to hold a family together while battling cancer.
