Heather Gero is my oldest and best friend. She is family to me - the sister I never had. We met when we were in the third grade and that's, well, a long time ago now. She is caring, funny, independent, and capable, among many other great things. She is always willing to lend a hand and is the kind of person that never expects anything in return. In fact, if you try to pay her back, she often won't let you!
Heather suddenly became severely ill and was hospitalized three times in the past month with no answers. An otherwise healthy and very active person, she now has tremors, tachycardia, abdominal pain, dizzy spells, severe weight loss, headaches, hot flashes, fatigue, GI issues, hair loss, body aches, hives, and a laundry list of other daily symptoms. My formerly vibrant friend is now just a shadow of herself. After numerous blood tests, scans, ultrasounds, and several procedures she still has no relief. She has seen multiple specialists who have not been able to offer a diagnosis or treatment plan thus far.
Over the past month these symptoms left her unable to complete many simple tasks and for a duration of time she was out of work. Aside from her normal bills, she also has the financial obligation of caring for her beloved horse Belle. The medical costs associated with Heather's care thus far have become a tremendous financial burden as she still searches for answers. With thousands of bills coming in and still more specialists to see she is fighting just to keep her head above water.
As her advocates, we politely ask those who are able to, to help provide some financial assistance. Her family truly appreciates all of the love, support, and prayers offered thus far. If you are unable to donate financially, please continue to keep her in your prayers. She is truly a beautiful person, inside and out, with the brightest of futures and we just want her back. We are grateful for all of your love and support!
