Memorial Fund for Troy Faulkner (Dad)

With great sadness, Dad lost his battle to cancer. On July 1st, 2020 Dad was air lifted from their hospital in Kennewick, Wa to Swedish Hospital, Seattle for an infection they couldn't get rid of post treatments. After several days hospitalized & more scans they found his cancer was aggressively spreading. It was now in his spine & he was no longer mobile, becoming desperately weak, July 11th Dad was transported home to the Key Peninsula to be with his family. He was exhausted, but could finally rest. Finally free of the hospital, where his dear Mom could see her boy one more time and comfort and reassure him with his precious wife Gina by his side. Our Dad's last day was spent in the embrace of his loved ones reminiscing of the many memories we have treasured & will continue to for years to come. Early July 12th he passed away holding the hands of his loved ones. Our gratitude & love for the heartfelt generosity in assisting in our being able to care for Dad & now his memorial services & helping his wife & family with these expenses. Thank you from the depths of our hearts ❤️ ❤️❤️ Dad's story: Dad (Troy) was diagnosed with non-smoker squamous cell carcinoma in his nasal cavity February 2019. Since then he has been going thru chemo & infusions. In October they operated on the mass & he continued with even more treatments. Unfortunately at his 1 mos. check up from surgery it was discovered that a new mass had shown up in one of his lungs. After several test, more treatments & biopsies it was confirmed his cancer had metastasized to his lung & the tumor originally excised from his nasal cavity had returned more aggressive them ever. Doctors were going to have to operate again in order to attack it with radiation, mean while his lung had begun to fill with fluid making hospital visits a routine thing to drain the fluid just so he could breathe. Friday (April 10, 2020) he went in for what was to be a simple debulking procedure in Seattle, WA on the tumor before his next course of treatment could begin. While in recovery his heart stopped and the Doctors & staff worked vigorously for 15 mins to bring him back. His heart started, but he was not responding and had to be intubated and placed on machines. Doctors were preparing us for the worse and Sunday morning we received a weak, but rejoiceful call that he woke up & wanted to hear our voices. He has been fighting since, still hospitalized, but finally one step down from ICU .  As he improves there will be many more struggles ahead with his care & as we don't yet know what the future will hold we are merely grateful to hear his voice, when Doctors weren't sure we would have that again. Times are hard and with Covid19 we are unable to see him even for a brief moment, Hotel expenses as their home is several hours away and the future care he will need when he can finally return home are beginning to add up. Thank you for reading our story, we are continually humbled & grateful for the out pouring of love our family has received during these uncertain times.  Much gratitude from the Faulkner & Maine Family❤️
