On July 27, 2023, Raymond Moss started complaining about headaches and being dehydrated. Raymond had his family take him to emergency room. They treated Raymond at the hospital and he was then discharged and was able to return back home. Three days later, Raymond started receiving the headaches again but this time he also experience loss of sight in his right eye. He later experiences complications with his ability to walk which caused his walking to become slower and off balance. On August, 6, 2023, Raymond was found by his daughter lying on the floor after he was nauseated and vomiting earlier during the day. Raymond family transported him to the hospital after finding him on the floor. Raymond was then rushed into surgery to be treated for a collapsed lung August 9, 2023. After a successful surgery, the doctors advised Raymond that he had stage IV cancer in his left upper lung and a MRI of the brain showed 6 cancer lesions and tumor that was also at stage IV.
Raymond has been through two operations and three radiation treatments since being diagnosed with stage IV cancer in his left lung and brain. The doctor estimated that he will only have five years to live with his current cancer diagnosis. Raymond spirit has been amazing battling this illness and staying encouraged and hopeful that God will make him cancer free once he completes his treatment plan that the doctors have put in place for him. Raymond initially weighed 162 pounds before he was admitted to the hospital the second time but after three radiation treatments he now weighs 132 pounds but his spirit again is strong and he is hopeful that God will free him of all cancers in his body.
