Hi my name is Crystal Mills and as some know my husband Kevin Mills was diagnosed with colon cancer back in October. He had surgery November 9th to go in to remove the 14cm mass once in the dr found it was more to it than they thought the mass was stuck to his bladder and colon causing blockage. Two day later Kevin was in excruciating pain and they discovered everything they did in the first surgery had came undone and he had a rupture. Causing him so much pain they rushed him down for emergency surgery. That’s two major surgeries within a 72 time frame. After he was in ICU for a week and he had to have ostomy bag ( it is reversible in the future). Kevin spent almost 3 weeks in the hospital. During all this time he was on sips and chips or only liquid diet causing him to lose almost 50 pounds. He’s been home trying to regain his strength and weight but it’s been hard. His open wound is healing good but mentally he’s really struggling. This has caused a burden on our entire family. As you know we own a home renovation company, and things have basically came to a hault due to Kevin being sick, and that is our only source of income due to him and I ran every aspect of it. Kevin does not have medical insurance only the kids and I do. And we’ve had to buy all his medical supplies and prescriptions out of pocket which has been expensive. He is already at $300k in medical bills and we are yet to start his treatments and the ostomy reverse surgery later on down the road. Kevin starts chemotherapy on January 30th he will have a total of 12 treatments over a 6 month time frame.
