My name is Anne O'Rorke, Waterford, Ireland. I am the founder of TIAFI This is my appeal to you.

IN THE RUINS OF WAR, SOME CHILDREN STILL SMILE.

In Syria, hundreds of boys and girls live lives every day with pain that most of us cannot imagine.

Children who have lost their legs to bombs, their arms to shrapnel, their future to a war they never chose

Many cannot play or go to school, as the war has changed everything

The areas they live in are desolated, with no schools or hospitals and for many, their homes are in ruins

There are no physiotherapy centres in the area for children with disabilities like cystic fibrosis or cerebral palsy and bomb and shrapnel injuries.

No one to help them take their first step, or a place where they can relearn to walk, to rebuild strength, to dream again
Tiafi is a small, hands-on NGO comprising mainly of volunteers. We have worked across Turkey since 2017, supporting disabled children and their mothers, all fleeing from the dreadful 14 years of war in Syria.
Our dream is to continue our work in Syria, a forgotten country where 84 thousand people have lost limbs. Where, at the moment, only 10 % of the food needed is available
TIAFI has recently relocated to Homs in Syria. We rented a small garage and have turned it into a physiotherapy and rehabilitation centre in a region where there is nothing. Thirty children are attending our free physiotherapy sessions, and another sixty are on our waiting list.
Our physiotherapists have also worked for the last two years online with disabled children and their parents in war zones. We hope in the future to do the same again in Gaza, where more than 4.500 peole have lost limbs because of the war

Every contribution will go towards:
+ "Repairing and equipping the centre "
+"Training community volunteers and hiring local physiotheraphist "
+"Providing transportation for childrenwho can not travel "
+"Offering ongoing care and emotional support for families

We know the challenges are immense. We also know what compassion can build.
Our centre could mean that an entire community regains hope

We cannot do it without your help

Anne
