Ansley Stewart is a vibrant 15 year old girl, from Sarnia, who was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2011.  At the age of 8,  Ansley underwent a 21 hour surgery to attempt resection of her tumor. Due to the location Doctors were unsuccessful at any removal. Over the last 7 years Ansley underwent two rounds of chemotherapy, each round 72 weeks in length. Ansley spent the last three years in remission living her life like a normal teenager. This past September Ansley and her family learned that the tumor has grown significantly . Surgery and chemotherapy are no longer suitable options.  The best option to fight this tumour is Proton Radiation Therapy. This treatment is currently only offered in the United States.  Michelle (Mom) will have to take Ansley to seek this treatment in Houston, Texas at The MD Anderson Clinic. 

Ansley will be treated on a daily outpatient basis, so she and Michelle will need to find a suitable accommodation for the 6-8 weeks of treatment that Ansley will require.

As a Part Time College employee, Michelle will have no benefits, or paid leave, so her family will not only need to cover living expenses here but also in Texas for the couple of months that Ansley is receiving treatment. Sadly, Michelle will have to separate from her husband and other children to be with her daughter in Texas.  

You can all imagine how emotionally difficult this is for Michelle, her husband Scott, Ansley, Keagan and Colton to be apart from each other during this very emotional time.  With Michelle in Texas and not working, they must depend on one income to support living expenses at home and also in Texas.
