Corey’s mom Kelly has been battling with tracheobronchomalacia, a rare life threatening disease that collapses the airways when you breathe or cough, congestive heart failure, life threatening asthma, and neuropathy, COPD and inflammatory lung disease . She has to use a BiPAP machine every night and have oxygen readily available at all times. Over the last 3 years she has been in and out of the hospital fighting for her life. She is scheduled to undergo Robotic thermobronchoplasty which is a procedure that reconstructs the airways and a tracheal a mesh netting is used to try and force some improvement in air exchange The procedure only has a 20 to 30 % improvement. They will make numerous incisions on her side and deflate one of the lungs to help reconstruct the airway. She will be placed on a breathing tube while the procedure takes place. Without this procedure she will lose her life. This condition and procedure is so rare that it is only done in a few states. She has been going back and forth to New York for consultations and testing. Her insurance only pays for some of the costs of the medical bills as it is out of state surgery. She cannot fly back and forth giving the medical issues and has to drive, which paying for tolls, parking( which is up to $90 a day), hotel stays all add up. November 18th she goes to get this procedure done and will have to stay in New York about a month. Recovery is 6 to 8 weeks, with many return visits. Anything that can be donated will be greatly appreciated and will help relieve some cost and stress that comes with all this.
